FINDING STRESS
This abstract piece uses color blocking and has elements of finger painting included.
This canvas was inspired by the question "what brings you the most stress?" There was an overwhelming amount of overlap in these answers. They all included either the school or the pandemic. Many of them had to do with being pressed for time when it comes to school assignments but at the same time they are losing time in their youth because of school. Many answers mentioned the pandemic, but even those had school related undertones. I included a melting clock with symbols of the devil encrypted because time feels almost like a curse during these times. The arrows are pointing to the two biggest stressors of students which are school and the pandemic. I made a circle of individuals wearing masks that also looks like a viral cell to represent this.
For the color choice of this piece, I once again stuck to the survey results and the students had chosen a very monotone and gloomy palette for this topic. I was not surprised by this like I was for the first canvas. Just like the first one however, I had to incorporate red somewhere so I chose to add the hand print in the middle as a breakup of color and image.
